| Beschrijving voorzijde | The entire field is occupied by a four-line Persian religious legend in bold nastaliq script, deeply struck and flowing across the flan in characteristic Zand-era style. The inscription reads a verse invoking the Imam of the Age as the source of gold and silver coinage in the world. The script is rendered with pronounced calligraphic relief, with decorative dot clusters adorning individual letter forms throughout. The irregular flan edges are typical of the hand-hammered production technique employed at Iranian mints of this period. No figurative imagery is present, the design relying entirely on the authority of the sacred text. |
