| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays the civic arms of Lindau: an elaborately rendered linden tree (Lindenbaum) with spreading branches bearing blossoms and fruit, flanked on either side by decorative scrollwork supporters. A bird, likely an eagle, appears at the apex of the design above the tree. The entire composition is enclosed within a circular legend in Latin, reading around the full periphery and referencing the centenary jubilee of the Peace of Westphalia, the city of Lindau, and the Roman-numeral date MDCCXLVIII. The engraving style is characteristic of mid-eighteenth-century German medallic work, with fine detail in the naturalistic foliage. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field depicts the Ara Pacis Westphalica, an altar of the Westphalian Peace, rendered as a tiered stone altar inscribed ARA PACIS WEST-THALICA, set upon a stepped plinth and surmounted by a tall obelisk or pyramid emitting radiating rays of light. Four classical columns, in pairs, flank the altar on either side, evoking a temple precinct, with smoke or clouds visible in the upper corners of the field. The surrounding circular legend in Latin, reading in two arcs at left and bottom, proclaims the wish that the Peace of Westphalia endure through future ages. The composition reflects the Baroque commemorative medallic tradition prevalent in the Imperial Free Cities of the Holy Roman Empire. |
