| Opis awersu | Diademed, draped, and cuirassed imperial bust of Justinian I facing right, rendered in the late antique style typical of Lombard imitative coinage. | Opis rewersu | A closed staurogram (a Tau-Rho christogram) prominently displayed in the center of the field, flanked by a six-pointed star on either side. The entire device is enclosed within a beaded or rope-style wreath border, consistent with Lombard imitative silver of the post-conquest period. The staurogram serves as a christological symbol derived from Byzantine ecclesiastical and monetary iconography. No legend or exergual inscription is present, the design relying entirely on symbolic imagery. The wreath border is rendered with characteristic irregularity reflecting the hand-struck hammered production technique. |
