Obverse description Small laureate Liberty head facing left, set within an open laurel wreath tied at the base. The circumferential legend reads ESTADO LIBRE Y SOBERANO DE SINALOA, encircling the central device, with a small star or ornament at the base of the legend. The design is rendered in low relief typical of Mexican state copper coinage of the mid-nineteenth century.
