| Obverse description | A large capital letter M in bold Roman majuscule occupies the central field of this thin bracteate flan, struck in relief on one side only. The letter is rendered in a robust, slightly archaic style consistent with late 12th-century Scandinavian coinage. The central device is enclosed within a double concentric circle, forming a raised inner ring and an outer border that frames the composition. The flan itself is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, characteristic of hand-cut hammered bracteates of the period. The letter M is interpreted as an abbreviation for the mint of Marstrand. |

| Reverse description | As a bracteate, this coin was struck from a single die, resulting in a corresponding incuse impression on the reverse mirroring the obverse design. The reverse therefore shows a sunken, mirror-image rendering of the capital letter M within the double concentric circles, with no independent design or legend. |
