Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line inscription in Burmese script arranged in four horizontal registers, reading 'ဘိုးတော်မင်း / တရားစစ် / အစစ်အမှန် / ဒင်္ဂါး', meaning 'Royal Grandfather King / True Law / Genuine and True / Coin'. The lettering is deeply struck in a somewhat irregular fashion characteristic of early Konbaung Dynasty copper coinage. The script fills the majority of the flan with no border or decorative devices, presenting a purely epigraphic design. The strike shows the typical uneven planarity associated with hand-prepared planchets of this period.
