| 正面描述 | Four lines of Burmese script inscription occupy the central field, arranged horizontally within a circular border. The legends are rendered in traditional Burmese characters and record the royal authority of King Bodawpaya. The script fills the flan in a compact, orderly arrangement typical of Konbaung Dynasty coinage. The overall design is plain, with no additional ornamental devices or symbols flanking the inscription. |

Bodawpaya seized the Burmese throne in 1782 by executing his nephew and most of the Konbaung nobility in a purge that left few rivals standing. His coinage reforms came quickly — this large-planchet copper issue was among the earliest monetary output of a reign that would last 37 years and see Burma expand aggressively into Arakan and Manipur. The KM#2.2 designation distinguishes it from the smaller planchet variety, a production distinction likely tied to inconsistent copper supply rather than deliberate policy.
