Reverse description The reverse field bears the Shi'a kalima in bold naskh-style Arabic script, arranged in multiple registers across the flan without a framing border. The legend reads the shahada followed by the Alid affirmation, proclaiming Ali as the Wali of God, a defining feature of Safavid coinage introduced to distinguish Twelver Shi'a currency from that of Sunni contemporaries. The letters are deeply struck and interlocking, rising in pronounced relief against the slightly granular gold ground. As is typical of hammered Safavid fractions, the flan is irregular in outline and shows slight weakness at the periphery where the die did not fully engage the planchet. The inscription fills virtually the entire field, leaving no blank areas.
