Obverse description Central field displays the crowned municipal shield of Hildesheim, quarterly divided, with a cross motif in the upper half and a lattice or lozenge pattern in the lower half, all within a beaded inner circle. The shield is surmounted by a crown and flanked by decorative flourishes. The circumscribed Latin legend reading MONE: NOVA: HILDESEM: followed by the date runs along the outer border, separated from the inner field by a continuous beaded ring. The overall style is characteristic of early sixteenth-century German municipal hammered coinage.

Reverse description The reverse depicts the enthroned Madonna and Child in high medieval style: the Virgin Mary is shown seated facing forward, wearing a crown and flowing robes, cradling the infant Christ on her left arm, a composition consistent with the Mariengulden tradition of the Hildesheim mint. The figures are rendered in bold, slightly archaic relief typical of early sixteenth-century hammered German silver coinage, surrounded by a beaded inner circle. The encircling Latin legend AVE: GRACIA: MATER: DEI: — a Marian invocation — runs continuously around the outer border, referencing the Angelic Salutation and reinforcing the devotional character of this denomination.
