| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Frederick Alexander, Count of Wied, depicted in elaborate armored dress with ornate lace cravat and richly decorated cuirass, rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner. The hair is styled in a voluminous curled periwig typical of the mid-18th century. The peripheral legend reads FRID.ALEX.COMES WEDAE R. ET I., identifying the ruler as Friedrich Alexander, Count of Wied, Runkel and Isenburg. The date 1753 appears in the lower exergue beneath the truncation. |
