The eagle's two crowned heads face outward to left and right respectively, rendered in the bold, slightly angular style characteristic of late medieval hammered coinage. The central shield bears the arms of Savoy. The design is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border, with a partially legible Latin legend in uncial characters running around the periphery. |

| Opis rewersu | A bold cross pattée with fleury terminals occupies the central field, its four arms terminating in trefoil fleur-de-lis ornaments, characteristic of the Savoyard coinage of Amadeus VIII. The cross is contained within a plain inner circle, beyond which a beaded border frames the circumferential legend in uncial Latin characters. The devotional legend CRVCEM TVAM ADORAMVS, introduced by a cross pommée, reads continuously around the coin and is a hallmark of this series of Savoyard quarter grosso issues. |
