The cross is boldly struck and occupies the majority of the flan. The entire central device is enclosed within a plain inner circle, with the circumferential legend running between the inner circle and the outer beaded border. The die is characteristic of the hammered coinage of the Burgundian Netherlands under Philip the Good, with the irregular flan edge betraying hand-struck production. |
