Obverse description Central field depicts a long cross with a heraldic lion passant in each of the four quarters formed by the arms of the cross, a typical Vierlander compositional arrangement. The cross is boldly struck and occupies the majority of the flan. The entire central device is enclosed within a plain inner circle, with the circumferential legend running between the inner circle and the outer beaded border. The die is characteristic of the hammered coinage of the Burgundian Netherlands under Philip the Good, with the irregular flan edge betraying hand-struck production.

Reverse description Central field features a floriated or budded cross, the arms extending to the inner circle and dividing the field into four quadrants. The cross is of a simple long-armed type consistent with Burgundian Netherlandish hammered coinage of the mid-fifteenth century. A plain inner circle bounds the central device, separating it from the peripheral legend, which runs continuously between the inner circle and the outer beaded border. The flan is irregular in outline, as is typical of hand-struck small silver coinage of this period.
