Above and to the right, a castle atop a hill rises in the field, serving as a heraldic or territorial emblem. The circumscribed legend QVAR·DVCAT·VENET· identifies the denomination as a quarter Venetian ducat. The composition adheres closely to the established Venetian lion type used on ducal coinage of the eighteenth century, rendered with precise relief appropriate to an off-metal trial or pattern striking. |
