Aanvullende informatie

Württemberg-Oels was one of the fragmented Silesian duchies that passed through Protestant hands during a period when Habsburg pressure was steadily dismantling Lutheran institutions across the region. Sylvius II Friedrich ruled from 1664 until his death in 1697, and fractional gold of this type — issued from a minor court with limited minting infrastructure — was produced in small quantities, largely for ceremonial gift-giving and court use rather than everyday exchange.

The duchy reverted to Habsburg control shortly after his line died out.
