| Reverse description | The reverse features Oklahoma's state bird, the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, depicted in dynamic flight with wings spread and its distinctive elongated tail feathers trailing below, rendered in fine detail against a deeply mirrored proof field. Surrounding the bird are sprays of Oklahoma's state wildflower, the Indian Blanket (Gaillardia), shown in bloom on both sides of the composition. The state name OKLAHOMA arcs along the upper rim, with the date 1907—commemorating Oklahoma's year of statehood—inscribed directly below. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM curves along the lower rim, flanked by the coin year 2008, and the engraver's initials PH for Phebe Hemphill appear discreetly in the lower right field. |
