| Opmerkingen |
Iraq's first national currency series, launched in 1931 under the Currency Board established by the Iraq Currency Law, was produced entirely by Bradbury Wilkinson at their New Malden works. The quarter dinar denomination was the smallest in that founding series and was almost certainly aimed at bridging the gap between the older Indian rupee-based coinage still in everyday use and the new decimal structure.
Bradbury Wilkinson held the contract through the 1930s, and the 1935 date places this note in the second tranche of the original series rather than the inaugural 1931 printing — a distinction that matters for completeness but is rarely flagged in general catalogs.
