| Obverse description | Central field features an ornate cross fleury with a crowned letter H at the centre, the arms of the cross terminating in fleurs-de-lis and decorated with small crosses. Four fleurs-de-lis are positioned in the angles between the arms. The date 1606 is divided by the upper arm of the cross. The surrounding legend reads SIT·NOMEN·DOMINI·BENE, referencing the biblical verse 'Blessed be the name of the Lord', rendered in Latin capital letters within a beaded border. |

| Reverse description | Central device consists of the royal arms of France — a shield semé of fleurs-de-lis — surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with foliate decoration. The denomination is indicated by the Roman numeral II on each side of the shield (denoting the quarter écu). The mint mark G (for Poitiers) appears at the base of the shield. The surrounding legend HENRICVS·4·D·G·FRANC·ET·NAVA·REX·G, identifying Henry IV by the Grace of God as King of France and Navarre, is rendered in Latin capitals within a beaded border. |
