| Reverse description | A bold Cross of the Military Order of Christ dominates the central field, struck in the characteristic hammered manner with irregular flan preparation. The date is divided into two parts by the arms of the cross, with the numerals appearing in the quadrants: '1-7' in the upper portions and '7-8' in the lower, together forming the year of issue. The cross is rendered in a primitive style consistent with the local Dio mint's production standards for small copper coinage of this period. |
