Obverse description The obverse displays bold Naskh-style Arabic calligraphy within an oval cartouche occupying the central field, bearing the imperial title and Hijri date AH 1195. A multi-pointed star ornament appears above the cartouche, flanked by decorative floral or stellate devices. The numeral 1195 is prominently rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals in the lower portion of the field. The entire design is enclosed within a fine inner circle and a bold beaded outer border. The field retains the characteristic flat, hand-struck appearance typical of hammered Bengal Presidency coinage.
