The shield is supported and framed within a decorative cartouche, with the date 1833 positioned in the exergue below. A ribbon at the base bears the abbreviated Latin legend AUSP:REG & SEN:ANG: (Auspicio Regis Et Senatus Angliae, meaning 'By the authority of the King and Parliament of England'). The entire design is contained within a plain raised rim. |
