Obverse description The obverse displays dense Arabic calligraphic inscriptions filling the entire field in a bold, cursive script characteristic of Yemeni Islamic coinage. A central cartouche contains the date 1367 AH, with the name and titles of Imam Ahmad Hamid ed-Din arranged concentrically around it. The legend identifies the ruler as Commander of the Faithful and supporter of God's religion. The overall design follows the traditional Islamic convention of purely epigraphic decoration, with no figural imagery.
