Obverse description The Bolivian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting an oval shield bearing a llama on a hillside beneath a radiant sun, flanked by two Bolivian flags and two crossed cannons with cannonballs on either side. A condor with outstretched wings perches atop the shield. The circumferential legend REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA runs along the upper periphery in Latin script, flanked by a border of beads, with a row of five-pointed stars arranged along the lower arc.

Reverse description A finely detailed laurel wreath, tied at the base with a ribbon, encloses the central field bearing the denomination expressed as a fraction '1/20' above 'BOLIVIANO', followed by the weight and fineness specifications '25 Gs' and '9 Ds FINO'. The date appears in the exergue below the wreath. The circumferential motto LA UNION ES LA FUERZA (meaning 'Unity is Strength') runs along the upper periphery, with the assayer initials 'FP' visible at lower right between dots.
