| 背面描述 | Central field displays the inscription LOHN DES FLEISSES (Reward of Diligence) in three lines rendered in an ornate Fraktur blackletter script, enclosed within a wreath of oak branches bearing acorns and detailed foliage, tied at the base. The wreath is rendered in fine relief with naturalistic detail. The plain field surrounding the wreath is unadorned, and the milled toothed border frames the entire design. This Schulpreistaler (school prize thaler) reverse design was typical of Bavarian educational award coinage of the early nineteenth century. |

Schulpreistaler — school prize thalers — were struck for distribution to outstanding students in the Bavarian educational system, a practice the Munich court used to reinforce both academic excellence and dynastic loyalty simultaneously. Maximilian I Joseph had only just elevated Bavaria to a kingdom in January 1806, and these pieces fall squarely within the first years of that new royal identity. They were never intended for commerce; recipients kept them as prestige objects, which accounts for the unusually high rate of survival in sharp condition.
The short three-year window of this type corresponds to administrative reorganization of the Bavarian school prize program under the Montgelas reforms.
