Reverse description Central field displays the inscription LOHN DES FLEISSES (Reward of Diligence) in three lines rendered in an ornate Fraktur blackletter script, enclosed within a wreath of oak branches bearing acorns and detailed foliage, tied at the base. The wreath is rendered in fine relief with naturalistic detail. The plain field surrounding the wreath is unadorned, and the milled toothed border frames the entire design. This Schulpreistaler (school prize thaler) reverse design was typical of Bavarian educational award coinage of the early nineteenth century.
