| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia, her hair elaborately dressed in loose curls falling to the shoulder, wearing an ornate bodice with lace trim and a brooch at the décolletage. The effigy occupies the majority of the coin's field and is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait along the toothed border, reading M THERESIA D G R IMP GE HU BO REG, abbreviating her full imperial and royal titles. The coin's milled edge is visible as a fine dentilated border framing the design. |
