The figures are rendered in the late Renaissance hammered style typical of early seventeenth-century Saxon coinage. A circular inner beaded border frames the dual portraits, with the full circumferential legend divided by the busts. The motto FRID. ERNEHRT - VNFRID. VER. ZEHRT. (Peace nourishes — strife devours) appears within the legend, a characteristic Saxon ducal device of the period. |
