The wreath border is composed of naturalistic sprigs with blossoms and small floral ornaments distributed around the inner field. A small mintmaster's mark or ornament appears at the base of the wreath. The overall design commemorates the vacancy of the archiepiscopal see of Mainz in 1732, issued under the authority of the Metropolitan Chapter. |
