| 正面描述 | Central Arabic inscription reading 'Nasir al-Duniya wa'l-Din Abu'l-Fath' arranged in the field, with the AH regnal date appearing at the left center. The legends are rendered in characteristic Sultanate calligraphic style, occupying the majority of the flan. The hammered flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of medieval Indian Islamic coinage of this period. No border ornament or marginal legend is present on this side. |

Nasir al-din Mahmud Shah I ruled Gujarat through a period of intensive Portuguese pressure on the western Indian coast — Vasco da Gama's first voyage reached Calicut in 1498, midway through this coin's possible minting window, and the disruption to Arab-dominated spice trade routes was already being felt in Gujarati commercial networks. The Mustafabad mint, a secondary facility within the Sultanate, produced fractional silver primarily to service local market exchange rather than long-distance trade.
