Obverse description Square flan with Arabic legend arranged within a central rectangular compartment, divided horizontally into two registers by a plain line. The upper register contains the principal inscription in bold, deeply struck Naskh script occupying the majority of the field. The lower register carries a secondary legend, also in Arabic script. A plain linear border frames the inscribed area, consistent with the hammered coinage of the Malwa Sultanate under the Khalji dynasty ruler Shihab ud-Din Mahmud Shah II (r. 1510-1531).
