Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse displays a weathered and partially legible Arabic inscription in the field, with the die struck off-center, resulting in partial legend loss at the margins. The deeply incuse areas and raised lettering are consistent with the hammered technique employed at the Shadiabad mint under Hoshang Shah. The flan surface shows significant granularity and patination typical of copper half tanka issues of the Malwa Sultanate. The overall fabric is irregular and planchet preparation appears rough, consistent with provincial copper coinage of this period.

Aanvullende informatie

Hoshang Shah ruled Malwa for over two decades after effectively seizing power from his father Dilawar Khan, who had declared independence from the Tughlaq Sultanate in Delhi around 1401. The copper fractional coinage of his reign is poorly documented in Western references and remains difficult to attribute with confidence — DR#3012 places this piece within his long reign but does not narrow the date further.
