The surrounding Latin legend carries the abbreviated titles of the rulers and concludes with the mint mark and, where present, the date either at the end of the legend or divided at the top of the coin by the mint mark. The heraldic shield is rendered in the bold, compressed style characteristic of hammered billon coinage of the Spanish Netherlands. |
