| Obverse description | Armored bust of King Christian IV facing right, wearing an elaborate crown and a ruffled lace collar, with detailed engraving of the royal armor and mantle visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief consistent with piedfort production, displaying considerable sculptural depth. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the royal Latin legend distributed around the periphery between the inner beaded border and the outer rim. |

| Reverse description | Central oval shield bearing the crowned rampant lion of Denmark, rendered in high relief with fine detailing of the mane and claws. The date 1638 is divided on either side of the shield in the field. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with the Latin motto legend arranged around the outer periphery reading from the base upward. A small floral mintmark ornament appears at the base of the legend. |
