Obverse description Full-length enthroned effigy of Henry VIII facing front, crowned and robed in royal regalia, holding a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left, seated upon an elaborate throne. A Tudor rose is depicted in the lower field beneath the throne. The figure is rendered in the late Gothic hammered style characteristic of early Tudor coinage. The legend surrounds the effigy within a beaded inner circle.
