Obverse description Central device comprising a tall palm tree flanked by two llamas couchant, one to each side, all set within a beaded inner border. Nine five-pointed stars are arranged in an arc above the palm in the upper field. The circular legend REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA is inscribed along the upper periphery, with the assayer initials and fineness notation — 10 D 20 G — and the date appearing along the lower field and sides. The mintmark PTS (Potosí) and assayer initials appear at the lower left and right of the central device respectively.
