| Obverse description | A seven-line inscription on a tablet surmounted by a radiant all-seeing eye, flanked at left by a bunch of grapes and at right by five ears of wheat, emblems of agricultural abundance. The text, arranged in horizontal registers across the face of the tablet, proclaims the foundational principles of the French Republic. The engraver's signature of Dupré appears in the exergue at the base of the tablet. The overall design reflects the austere Republican aesthetic of the Year II, rejecting royal iconography in favour of civic and allegorical symbolism. |

| Reverse description | A balance scale in the centre of the field, its beam supporting a Phrygian cap — the emblem of liberty — resting upon the flail arm, which is itself crowned with an oak wreath symbolising civic virtue and strength. The denomination 1/2 S appears centrally between the scale pans. The legend LIBERTE EGALITE flanks the design, with the mint mark H and date 1793 completing the reverse inscription. The composition is compact and heraldically balanced, characteristic of Dupré's Republican coinage designs. |
