Beschrijving voorzijde Central field occupied by the quartered heraldic shield of Ferdinand of Bavaria as Archbishop-Elector of Cologne and Prince-Abbot of Stavelot-Malmedy, surmounted by an elaborate electoral bonnet or crown. The escutcheon displays the multiple quarterings associated with the Wittelsbach dynasty and the ecclesiastical territories under Ferdinand's authority. The shield is rendered in the hammered style typical of early seventeenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading FERDINAN · ELEC · COL · PRIN · ST, identifying Ferdinand as Elector of Cologne and Prince of Stavelot. The coin's flan is irregular with a beaded inner border.

Beschrijving keerzijde Central design features the Imperial crowned double-headed eagle within a circular frame or orle, flanked by the initials M and F (for Matthias Ferdinandus or serving as mintmaster/value marks) on either side, with ornamental crosses at the cardinal points. The Imperial crown surmounts the eagle at the top of the central composition. The encircling Latin legend MATH ROMA IMPE S · AVG invokes Emperor Matthias as ruler of the Holy Roman Empire. The overall design follows the conventional Imperial coinage typology of the period, rendered by the hammered technique on an irregular flan with a beaded border separating legend from field.
