| Reverse description | Central field depicts a rampant lion passant to the right, the heraldic emblem of the Kingdom of Leon, rendered in a bold Gothic style with a stylized mane and curling tail, set within an inner border of ornate interlaced scrollwork and pellet-in-annulet motifs consistent with the decorative vocabulary of Alfonsine coinage. To the left of the lion a decorative foliate or palm branch element fills the field. The circumferential Latin legend surrounding the inner border reads ALFONSVS DEI GRACIA REX LEGIONIS, proclaiming Alfonso as King of Leon by the grace of God. |
