| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a prominent Chi-rho monogram (Christogram) prominently displayed at the centre of the field, enclosed within a laurel wreath tied at the base, a composition emblematic of late Roman Christian imperial iconography. The Chi-rho, formed by the superimposition of the Greek letters chi (Χ) and rho (Ρ), served as a potent symbol of Christian imperial authority throughout the fifth century. The exergue below the wreath contains the mint mark denoting the Rome mint. The wreath border, rendered with individual leaf elements, frames the central device with the sparse elegance typical of late Western Roman siliquae. |
