The shield bears the dynastic quarters of Savoy, Jerusalem, Cyprus, and Sardinia, with the central escutcheon of Savoy. The circumferential legend DVX·SABAVD·ET·MONTISFER·PRINC·PEDEM·&· records the ruler's titles as Duke of Savoy and Montferrat and Prince of Piedmont. The field is plain and the whole composition is executed in a refined late Baroque engraving style. |
