Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, two crossed keys of Saint Peter in saltire, with a small ring or annulet above at the crossing point, and trefoil or quatrefoil ornaments at the base of the keys. The crossed keys are the heraldic emblem of the Archbishopric of Trier. A Gothic Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, running along the coin's periphery. The overall composition is bold and well-centered, typical of hammered silver coinage of the Trier archbishopric in the mid-14th century.
