Obverse description Facing bust of Archbishop Boemund II wearing a pointed mitre, rendered in a stylized Gothic manner. The effigy is set within a beaded inner circle, with the archbishop's vestments visible at the neck and shoulders. The legend BOEMVNDVS runs around the periphery in Gothic Latin letters, partially legible due to the irregular flan. The portrait is characteristic of mid-14th century Rhenish ecclesiastical coinage, displaying a frontal, hieratic treatment of the subject.
