背面描述	The reverse displays the arms of the Deutsch-Ostafrikanische Gesellschaft (German East Africa Company) as the central device: a shield bearing a lion passant beneath a palm tree, supported by decorative scrollwork on either side. The date 1901 appears in an exergual cartouche below the shield. The circular legend DEUTSCH-OSTAFRIKANISCHE GESELLSCHAFT runs around the upper portion of the field, with the denomination 1/2 RUPIE at the bottom, flanked by stars, all within a beaded border.
