| Aversbeschreibung | Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan displaying a cruciform grid design dividing the field into compartments. Tibetan script characters are arranged within the compartmented layout, with a prominent stylized foliate or vegetal motif occupying the central register. The design is characteristic of Bhutanese coinage of the Deb Raja period, executed with shallow, somewhat crude hand-hammered dies typical of early 19th-century Bhutanese mint practice. |

| Reversbeschreibung | Reverse of this irregularly struck hammered copper flan features a similar cruciform grid pattern subdividing the field into rectangular compartments. Tibetan script legends are distributed across the compartments, with boldly struck characters visible in the upper, central, and lower sections of the field. The overall design mirrors the obverse in its geometric compartmentalisation, a hallmark of Bhutanese Deb-period coinage, with the lettering rendered in a somewhat stylised and variable manner consistent with hand-engraved dies. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
Bhutan's early coinage was produced by hand-hammering at local workshops with no central mint infrastructure, which accounts for the extreme variability in fabric, strike quality, and flan preparation across all survivors. The "Deb Period" designation refers to the Druk Desi — the secular ruler of Bhutan — whose administrations oversaw coin production during a stretch of roughly five decades when the country had only sporadic contact with British India.
KM#3.2 distinguishes this subtype from closely related issues by die characteristics that collectors still dispute in attribution. Many examples attributed to this period were likely struck across multiple reigns, making precise dating within the 1790–1840 window largely speculative.
