Beschrijving voorzijde	Printed in violet on a pale ground, the obverse carries a finely engraved vignette of a moon orchid plant to the left, set within a guilloche border. The denomination fraction ½ appears in ornate panels at upper left and lower right, with a large guilloche medallion to the right bearing the same fraction numeral and the date 1948 below. Two manuscript signatures appear at centre-bottom beneath the titles SECRETARIS and PRESIDENT.

Beschrijving keerzijde	The reverse is printed in violet and dominated by a large stylised interlaced monogram of De Javasche Bank at centre top, flanked by ornate guilloche rosettes in the upper corners and flowing wave-pattern underprint across the lower half. Two rectangular text panels, one in Malay and one in Dutch, set out the legal penalties for counterfeiting, with the denomination fraction ½ repeated at lower left and upper right.
