Frederik VI had reigned since 1808, but Denmark's monetary system remained a fractured mess well into the 1830s — still recovering from the state bankruptcy of 1813, which had wiped out the old Rigsdaler and forced the creation of the Rigsbank as a government-controlled replacement institution. The dual denomination inscription on this pattern, simultaneously expressing value in both Rigsbankdaler and Speciedaler terms, reflects the transitional accounting problem that plagued Danish commerce through this entire period: two parallel value systems, neither fully trusted.
KM#Pn53 was never adopted for circulation. The reformed coinage that eventually emerged would take a different path entirely.
