Reverse description Central field bears a sheaf of arrows, the personal device of Isabella I of Castile, depicted bound at the center with decorative curling flourishes, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The arrows radiate upward in a fan-like arrangement, with arrowheads pointing downward, a composition typical of the Catholic Monarchs' coinage type. The surrounding Latin legend encircles the device along the coin's outer margin, separated by the beaded border. The flan is irregular in shape, as expected of hammered coinage of the period, with the strike showing characteristic uneven relief across the field.
