| Obverse description | Crowned royal cypher of Felipe IV (Philip IV) occupying the central field, formed by an interlaced F and a numeral IV beneath a crown, typical of Spanish Colonial cob (macuquina) coinage. The design is struck in the characteristic irregular hammered style of the period, resulting in an uneven flan with partially visible details. The field surrounding the monogram shows the rough, textured surface inherent to hand-struck colonial silver. No legend is consistently visible due to the nature of the cob striking technique. |
