Reverse description The quartered royal arms of Spain displayed on a baroque shield, featuring the castles of Castile and the lions of León in the principal quarters, with the fleurs-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty in the central escutcheon. The shield is surmounted by the royal crown. The mint mark M and assayer initials MF appear flanking the shield to left and right respectively. The circular legend HISPANIARUM . REX reads around the periphery, and a beaded border frames the entire design.
