Obverse description The obverse features the Guatemalan national coat of arms at center, depicting a quetzal bird perched atop a scroll inscribed with the independence date '15 DE SETIEMBRE DE 1821,' flanked by crossed rifles and swords, all enclosed within a wreath of laurel and oak branches.
